Cinema dei Piccoli

Cinema dei Piccoli began screening films for children in March 1934. Its early program of comedy shorts and cartoons addressed a young audience within the public park. The name means “cinema of the little ones.”

Restoration in 1991 renewed the venue, and later work with film archives and schools developed its educational role. The small scale matters to the experience: a screening is a shared event in a compact room, very different from the surrounding open park.

The name alone does not tell you whether a particular film suits your group. Check the current program for age guidance, language, subtitles, running time, and ticket arrangements. This is especially useful for English-speaking families, since a film familiar by title may be screened in Italian.

The cinema is near the southern park entrances and close to Casa del Cinema, but they are separate venues with separate programs. Confirm which one is named on the screening listing before heading into the gardens.
