About Villa Borghese Guide
Villa Borghese Guide is an independent guide to the park, the adjoining Pincio gardens and the Borghese Gallery. It brings photographs and place information together on a map so that a walk can turn into a discovery.
The faces along the paths
Our collection includes 181 mapped busts in the Pincio gardens. Search for a person, compare the photograph with the inscription and read their story. Map positions are approximate; some nearby busts share a position.
The park and the gallery
The park is a public outdoor space. The Borghese Gallery is a museum with timed reservations and separate entry arrangements. We give each its own space in the guide to make planning clearer.
How the guide is supported
Our gallery ticket and tour pages compare offers from Tiqets, Headout and GetYourGuide. If you follow a booking link, the partner handles your purchase and may pay us a commission. Prices and inclusions vary by provider.
How we handle history and sources
Place pages distinguish the person being commemorated from the sculpture or building you can see today. We link to reading sources and avoid assigning a sculptor, date, or inscription when the evidence is uncertain.
Our map is a way to explore the collection, not a surveyed walking route. Photographs help identify each bust, while coordinates, walking times, and nearby distances remain approximate. Historical interpretation and practical visitor information require different kinds of checking.
We are independent of the park, the museum and their official websites. You can also find booking and visitor information on the official Borghese Gallery website.
